Bush Playgroup
We are excited to offer our playgroup families the opportunity to participate in Bush Playgroup.
Our Bush Playgroup program is for families with children aged 0-5 years. It provides a rich sensory play experience with storytelling, songs, nature crafts and bush walks. Our program provides hands-on nature based activities that support children's social skills, physical and emotional development.
Our Bush Playgroup program is facilitated by Ting from Eco Explorers, specialists in outdoor bush education.
Ting is a life-long performer and storyteller who is passionate about fostering children’s natural curiosity and creativity. Ting is an experienced playgroup facilitator with a background in the community sector, across events, cultural activities, performing arts and media. Her creative pursuits include writing children's stories for outdoor theatre and picture books.

Our Bush Playgroup takes place at Wattle Park in Burwood.
Please note that Bush Playgroup is an all-weather outdoor playgroup. Please ensure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Sessions will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, extremely high temperatures and strong wind.
Please ensure that you pack the following for you and your child/children:
The Bush Playgroup program will:
- Incorporate Aboriginal perspectives
- Help to develop and strengthen community connections
- Consider each child’s holistic development
- Support mindfulness in nature, and
- Encourage sustainability by engaging in meaningful, age-appropriate sensory play experiences.

- Closed footwear when walking in the bush
- Sun hats
- Sunscreen
- Wet weather gear
- Plenty of nut-free snacks
- Water bottles, and
- A change of clothes for those muddy play days!
