Join us in this fun and practical design workshop for parents of young children who are keen on adapting spaces to further enhance their lifestyle.
Facilitated by Interior Designer & Child Development Specialist, Penny Miller.

Penny has a long background working as a children's counsellor, family therapist and mental health researcher. She has combined her child development expertise and interior design qualifications to offer a unique service to families. She is passionate about helping parents to learn to set up their homes to support their child's development and wellbeing and to promote family functionality.
In this workshop, Penny will discuss the following:
We will look at practical and educational content, using case studies and lots of visual graphics and interactive materials. And we will create our own ‘mood boards’!

This is a FREE ‘Neighbourhood House Week’ event, developed to bring people together to connect, learn and contribute to our community. Places are limited, bookings are required.

- The role of the environment as a child's ‘third teacher’
- What you really need in a nursery and child's bedroom
- Setting up a flexible play area (within budget and space limitations)
- Selecting furniture & decorations that balance learning, connection, safety, durability, and practicality
- Adapting your home to suit the presence of a child
- Strategies for minimising clutter, mess and overwhelm
