Book of the Month - ‘Between Before and After’ by Edita Mujkić
We are really excited to be kicking-off our Book Club with ‘Between Before and After’, a compelling memoir by Boroondara local, Edita Mujkić.
In May 1992 Edita fled her war-torn hometown of Sarajevo with two young children, in a borrowed car, with two bags and fifty American dollars in her pocket. Her husband, Goran, stayed behind in amongst the siege.
'Between Before and After' is a true story about Edita’s escape from besieged Sarajevo. It tracks their six hundred days of involuntary separation - Edita’s fears, anxieties, and her attempts to extricate her husband who struggled to survive in Sarajevo without food, electricity or water.
You can purchase Edita's book online or pick one up at our Reception for $32.95 (or ask us about borrowing one from the Ashburton library).
We are asking that you make a start (preferably read at least the first few chapters) before we meet in May!
